I
grew up in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and
started working with digital cameras and digital
art in high school. This is what really sparked
my interest in art. I went on to study graphic
design at the Maryland Institute College of Art
(MICA). Attending MICA allowed me to refine my
drawing, painting, and general fine art skills.
I use these skills in my photography to create
strong compositions made up of light, color, and
abstract shapes. Many of my photographs are local
to metro-Boston, but are shot from abstract angles
to bring a new look and feel to common sites. My
photography work progressed using an old
digital camera and a website, "This side up:
A digital sketch book." Many of my first photographs
focused on snow at night and urban transportation,
still two of my favorite subject matters.
Today
I live in Boston and work full time as an
IT professional at a local software development
company. In addition to my full time job, I continue
to do freelance photography, graphic design, and
photo restoration. My
most recent endeavor is co-founding WardMaps.com,
a family run business.
In
the future I will continue to expand my art across multiple
mediums including oil paintings and photo animations. |
